I mentioned the importance of noting 3 daily wins. Even on the toughest days, you can usually find something. I just use a Notes app on my phone. Here are some of my examples:
The mundane:
8-Jun
- G staying settled while I hung up the laundry
- Playing in the garden
- G getting some sleep
30-Jun
- Making it home avoiding triggers
- G eating his dinner
- Poo in the garden
And then there are the slightly more exciting (to me) ones:
28-Jun
- G choosing to lie in the sun by himself giving me time to get dressed without drama
- A bird landing on the fence and G not reacting
- G seeing a person and looking at me
And the more recent (more significant) wins:
5-Oct
- Reaction-free walk
- Walking past two men within 10m
- Walking past a dog within 10m
You decide what your wins are. Try to recognise and celebrate them when you can.
