During the worst times I couldn't have written a blog.
It might seem like I often have positive updates to share.
But honestly, in the dark months, I was so tired and overwhelmed I couldn't have even considered writing a blog.
It can be really really tough.
I have spent a lot of evenings in tears at a loss what to do next.
It was only when we started coming out the other side that I had the mental space and time to share our experiences.
It started when I shared some updates on what I had learned on an anxious and fearful dogs Facebook support group.
I got some really positive feedback back and it got me thinking....maybe our difficult experiences could actually be useful for someone.
I know I found the personal experiences particularly helpful. I guess it helps to know you're not alone when it seems like everyone else's dog isn't experiencing these issues. Sometimes one tiny tip can make all the difference.
Every dog and every situation is different though. I am only describing my own experiences.
Working with a trainer and vet behaviourist was the game changer for us.
For those who are in the darkest times currently, hang in there. Reach out for support and take care of yourself.
