It's been hard dealing with George's massive regressions over the last few weeks.
I'm finding it challenging to recognise and note the small wins. My mood tracker is mostly red (tough day) or yellow (not the best).
It seems to have hit harder this time. All that work, time, and energy and it feels like we're back at the start.
So I decided to write a list of all the positives since we started our reactivity and anxiety journey so that I don't lose sight of them.
Here goes:
- Calmer at home
- Generally calmer in the car
- Resting better
- No more barking and pacing for hours
- No hesitation in leaving the house
- No hesitation playing, resting and toileting in the garden
- Increased independence in the home so I can get some chores done
- No longer has to be in the bathroom when I shower
- Mostly sleeps through the night
- More little lie-ins
- Still doing well at daycare
- Some increased confidence at the Sniffspots
- Is eating enough
- Curious
- Enjoys playing
- Separation anxiety training progressing
- Loves a cuddle
- Loves me a lot
Human nature being what it is, I'm sure I could write a longer list of everything we are struggling with. But I need to remember that these positives are huge for a fearful dog!
